Walk in Gratitude

A pure concept, to walk in gratitude is.

I’ve always considered myself as an individual that is grateful. But as I had to watch my wife’s health slowly decline, and not being able to do anything about it. It changed my entire perspective on what it means to truly embody it. To truly live it. And genuinely understand it.

Grateful to simply wake up and see the sun break from behind the clouds, grateful to wake up and have a healthy body, grateful to wake up and hear the laughter of my family, grateful to endure the many challenges and hardships that the universe throws at us on the journey of life. Because in truth she did not have that privilege. She would have given anything to wake without pain and move through a single day normally. Something that we as human beings tend to take for granted eachday.

Since her passing, i’ve heard many people complaining about so many pointless things. And truth be told, it fustrates me. Sometimes I think to myself ‘if only you knew’.

I guess people only experience, perceive, and contemplate life from there own vantage point.

Such is life.

This isn’t to discredit anyone’s discrepancies in life, by no means at all. It’s simply about perspective. When one shifts their focus from what they lack, to what they already have, particularly things others may not, like good health. One may begin to realise just how fortunate they really are.
