Fragility of Life

Life is fleeting.

The fabric of reality that we experience from our individual perspective is so fragile. In recognising this idea, we can begin to understand the finiteness of our own lives. One second you're here, one second you're not. A precious memory, a source of love in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to experience your grace.

I guess it’s not until you witness a loss of someone so close or a situation that completely flips your perspective on life upside down that you begin to see the world through this lens. A lens that reminds you to truly live. A new lens that completely shatters the invincible facade that your former youthful self once had. Or maybe you have always thought this way, an outlier who has upheld your natural childlike inquisitiveness through everything. Whatever it may be, the fact remains.

Time does not discriminate. Time continues to move forward. And the universe continues to unfold.

To understand life’s fragility, is to appreciate your own. To comprehend life’s finiteness, is to savour every moment and every little detail that brushes by.

The colour of the flower, the soft breeze of the wind, the rays of sun glistening across your face, the connection between each other, or the known safety of those closest.

That is what I believe life, is all about.
